Biological Dentistry

WHAT IS BIOLOGICAL DENTISTRY?

Biological dentists are concerned with the impact that toxic materials have on the oral cavity and therefore the entire body. It is a priority to use materials that are as biocompatible as possible. Additionally, procedures are performed in a manner so as to be minimally invasive and highly supportive.

IS THERE A CONCERN ABOUT MERCURY?

“Silver” amalgam fillings are 50% mercury. The mercury in the filling is not locked in and releases a vapor, when there is a temperature rise. The mercury is inhaled and is readily absorbed in the bloodstream. The effects of this constant inhalation are cumulative. The World Helath Organization has concluded that dental fillings contribute more mercury to a person's body than all other sources combined.
